’Atlantis’- (2005)
Atlantis – sculptural installation Created for a specific project outside in the north of Holland, this project was based on the theme of ‘streaming’.
As I often do when asked to make a new work, I went first to feel, see, smell the space and what it means to me within this context.
Somehow, after viewing this clean, very stable Dutch environment, which looked somehow as if it were never being changed and probably never will be changed, I was caught by the streaming of the water in this agriculture canal and linked it to the streaming of time and the effect it has on me and maybe many others.
As always, I asked myself a few questions that brought me into a question related to the city of Atlantis – Was it? Was it not? Will it ever be?
